John Grisham and Roxanne CoadyIf The Firm doesn’t make it, John Grisham recalls telling his wife in this week’s podcast episode, he’ll quit the profession. Some 28 novels later (The Firm was his second), I guess you could say the longtime attorney, politician and activist is safe in leaving “bestselling author” on his shingle. Grisham hadn’t done a book tour in 25 years, but all that changed earlier this month when the master of the legal thriller hit the road to celebrate his 30th novel, Camino Island. Second stop along the way? R.J. Julia Booksellers, the Madison, CT, home of podcast host Roxanne Coady. While Grisham is planning a podcast of his own based on the talks from his tour, “Just the Right Book Podcast” was able to sit down for an exclusive discussion about his latest work, his career and the art of writing.

We’re thrilled to welcome Scott Turow to an upcoming episode. His latest book, “Testimony,” has been called by New York Times bestselling author Jeffrey Toobin “Turow’s most ambitious and complex work—which takes us from the gritty familiarity of his beloved Kindle County into a mysterious world of international intrigue. It’s the best kind of thriller, one that stimulates the mind as well as thrilling the heart.” Sticking with the genre, keep an eye out for heavyweights Dean Koontz and Michael Connelly down the road.
